Oregano, basil, coriander, sage, mint, marjoram, rosemary and many other herbs mainly known for the flavor they give to food, all you can grow in a few pots, window boxes or garden. Thus you will fully enjoy their benefits, whether you use them for seasoning food or therapeutic purposes in the form of infusions, poultices, etc…

You can get herbs from seeds or seedlings (purchased from markets or specialized stores), which has its plant in a sandy soil in May, without chemical fertilizers, the only plant that makes an exception is basil, which agrees better with a loam.

These plants need heat and sun (at least five or six hours a day) and fresh air, so it is recommended that you grow them in your garden or balcony, avoiding shade or areas that often form steam, as kitchen. Also, keep in mind that herbs need good drainage in excess (you can do so realizing their cultivation in containers for water drainage hole) and it is better to be wet with stagnant water, left 24 hours in a bowl.

Herbs such as basil, lavender, garlic chives can be used against pests other plants, are enough to put them near the affected plants to get rid of them.

Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is a spice well known for its cuisine properties but also for the strong flavor. Its leaves very aromatic are consumed fresh and can be kept in the freezer, being used especially in combination with tomatoes and garlic in preparation for pizza sauces, pasta or fish dishes. From a therapeutic standpoint, basil stimulates digestion and increases the appetite, favoring the metabolism.

Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is ubiquitous in Mediterranean cuisine and it is essential for the pizza’s flavor. It is used especially in combination with tomatoes, meat, boiled or grilled vegetables, and olives, harmonizing very well with spicy foods.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is used for cuisine and also as a decorative plant, its leaves are always green, with blue flowers, white or pinkish, which bloom in spring and autumn. Fresh rosemary twigs dry in a warm dry place, and then the leaves detached the branch and are stored in airtight containers, away from heat, light and moisture.

These plants can save you a lot of money and you will be sure that they are grown properly without any chemical substances, and beside that they make your garden look really exotic.
