April 2, 2011
It's been cold and raining over the last few days, so not much growth
system is still cycling as the process slows down in cooler weather
April 8, 2011
Considering the system isn't quit cycled, the growth has been great

Added Cantaloupe and watermelon seeds to the outside open
areas...
so they can grown down over the sides -
added some Chinese cabbage and more radishes
got a giant jalapeno stared already.... 50% faster growth then dirt
white posts you see are a temp. roof over the grow beds... to help divert some of the
rain water
April 21, 2011
Things are starting to take off.....and best of all NO WEEDS!!!

The cantaloupe and watermelon have come up and looking good
the baby Choy back left is looking great, onions are getting taller
the Chinese cabbage left center front are twice as big
celery right center front has filled out and is about twice as large
April 28, 2011
Things are starting to take off.....and still NO WEEDS!!!

Everything is going great.... the basil middle right is
twice as large as last week, the baby Choy is ready to harvest
the Chinese cabbage middle left is twice as large as last week, the cucumbers far right don't
show up in the picture
as they have started to hang down over the edge and have a baby cucumbers on the
vine already
PH is around 7.4 - ammonia 1.0 (added yesterday) - Nitrites
are still high (so no fish yet)
nitrates are around 10 - water temp 72 degrees
as soon as the nitrite spike is over, the Koi will go in.....
May 3, 2011
Things are starting to take off.....and still NO WEEDS!!!

5 days and you can see the growth..... the baby bok Choy is
starting to wilt due to the heat
the cucumber has doubled in size the Chinese cabbage is 25% larger - have
harvested some of the
bok Choy and all the radishes and putting in beets
May 9, 2011
Things are starting to take off.....and still NO WEEDS!!!

Growth has been steady, baby bok Choy is almost past its
prime... getting to hot for it...
will be pulling all the bok Choy in the starter system and outdoor system in a
day or so...
the Chinese cabbage is still going strong, the basil is getting very tall and
the celery is
doing good. Putting in beets
May 18, 2011
Looking Good!!!!!!

Removed the baby bok Choy, back left corner removed one
Chinese cabbages, front center,
giant jalapenos are getting bigger, the cucumber has grown a bunch and
will pick tomorrow
added beets, carrots are getting much taller and larger, lettuce is almost past
so will
be pulling that and the rest of the Chinese cabbage in a day or so... will be
adding something else
not sure what I'm going to put in next.... any ideas?
May 25, 2011
Everything is growing like crazy - even without fish!!!!!
(fishless cycling using an ammonia source right now)

As you can see the Chinese cabbage has bolted (gone to seed)
so it's coming out tomorrow
I have 5-6 peppers growing on the red and giant jalapeno plants - time to
harvest the basil
picked the first cucumber a few days ago and have new ones growing (near bottom
of pic #2)
Beets have grown 50% bigger in 7 days.... last picture is the cantaloupe which
is flowering
